The Career Transition Ministry at St. Thomas Aquinas is volunteer led. Our mission is to support all job seekers with a program rooted in a Christian environment, open to everyone regardless of church affiliation. Through tailored training and mentoring sessions, we address the unique needs of each candidate. We provide a welcoming space to connect with other job seekers and ask essential questions, offering our proven “4 Strategies for Success” to empower them. Where appropriate we will introduce recent technologies in Generative AI to help the job seeker prepare their “Hiring Presentation” and grow their network into their next career embracing “Informational Interviews.”
We provide a welcoming space where job seekers can connect, share experiences, and ask key questions. Our sessions cover essential strategies such as creating a marketing plan/”open for work” document, crafting a personal elevator speech, proper resume formatting and writing, effective networking techniques, interview preparation, and securing strong references.
Every candidate is treated with fairness, confidentiality, and respect. These free sessions are held monthly on the second Tuesday at 7:00 PM in Room 202 (with occasional schedule adjustments). Check our website for updates to the monthly calendar around holidays.
Parishioners are encouraged to support the ministry by sharing open positions from their companies. Please email job listings as a Word document so we can share with the community of job seekers we serve.
Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM in Room 202.
First meeting on February 11, 7 PM – 8:30 PM.
